- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- ½ cup shredded Parmesan cheese
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tbsp mayonnaise
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp Italian seasoning
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ cup heavy cream
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ tsp lemon juice
- ¼ tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Pound chicken breasts to even thickness and season both sides with salt and pepper.
- In a large oven-safe skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat. Sear chicken for 3–4 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove from heat.
- In a small bowl, mix Parmesan, mozzarella, mayonnaise, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning to form a cheesy paste. Spread evenly over each chicken breast.
- Transfer skillet to the oven and bake for 10–12 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through and cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Meanwhile, make the sauce. In a saucepan, melt butter and sauté garlic until fragrant. Add cream, Parmesan, lemon juice, paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 3–5 minutes until thick and creamy.
- Spoon the garlic butter sauce over the baked chicken before serving.
- Garnish with parsley and extra Parmesan for a restaurant-style presentation!
Notes
- You can substitute mozzarella with provolone if desired.
- For extra crispiness, pat the chicken dry before applying the cheesy paste.
- If you prefer a lighter version, reduce the cheese slightly or use part-skim mozzarella.
- Serve with steamed vegetables or a side of pasta for a complete meal.
