Description
Orange Chocolate Christmas Truffles are a luxurious no-bake holiday treat that blends zesty orange with silky dark chocolate for a creamy, festive bite.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz dark or semi-sweet chocolate, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon orange zest
- 1/2 teaspoon orange extract (optional, for extra flavor)
- Cocoa powder, powdered sugar, or melted chocolate (for coating)
Instructions
- Place the chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl.
- In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream and butter over medium heat until just simmering (do not boil).
- Pour the hot cream mixture over the chocolate and let sit for 2–3 minutes.
- Stir gently until smooth and glossy. Add orange zest and orange extract, stirring until fully combined.
- Cover and refrigerate the mixture for 1–2 hours, or until firm enough to scoop.
- Using a small cookie scoop or spoon, roll the mixture into 1-inch balls.
- Roll each truffle in cocoa powder, powdered sugar, or drizzle with melted chocolate.
- Chill again for 15–20 minutes before serving. Store in the refrigerator until ready to enjoy.
Notes
- Orange zest and orange extract intensify the citrus flavor—adjust to taste.
- For dairy-free or vegan option, use coconut cream and dairy-free chocolate.
- Coatings can be swapped: cocoa powder, powdered sugar, crushed nuts, or melted chocolate drizzle.
- Best made ahead and gifted in decorative boxes.
