Description
One Pot Creamy Pesto Sauce Pasta is a rich, festive and easy one-pot pasta dish that blends silky cream with herb-packed pesto for a comforting meal in minutes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 oz pasta (penne, rotini, or shells)
- 2 cups vegetable broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup prepared basil pesto
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- ½ tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh basil or parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Sauté garlic: In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add liquids: Pour in vegetable broth and heavy cream. Bring to a gentle simmer.
- Cook pasta: Add the pasta and Italian seasoning. Stir, cover, and cook for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender and sauce begins to thicken.
- Make it creamy: Stir in pesto and Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve: Garnish with fresh basil or parsley and enjoy this rich, festive bowl of creamy pesto perfection.
Notes
- Use any short pasta shape; the sauce thickens as it cooks.
- If sauce is too thick, loosen with a splash of broth or water.
- For a lighter version, use half-and-half or milk and skip some cheese.
- To add protein, fold in cooked chicken or shrimp.
- Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 2–3 days; reheat gently with a splash of broth.
