- 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire-style sauce

- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tbsp chopped parsley (optional)
- For the Mushroom Gravy:
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups beef broth
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a loaf pan or baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, eggs, milk, Worcestershire-style sauce, salt, black pepper, paprika, and parsley. Mix gently until just combined.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it into the prepared pan.
- Bake uncovered for 50–55 minutes, or until cooked through.
- While the meatloaf bakes, melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add mushrooms and sauté for 5–7 minutes until tender.
- Sprinkle flour over mushrooms and stir for 1 minute.
- Slowly whisk in beef broth and black pepper. Simmer until thickened, about 3–4 minutes.
- Remove meatloaf from oven and let rest for 5 minutes.
- Slice meatloaf and spoon warm mushroom gravy over the top before serving.
Notes
- Do not overwork the meat mixture to keep the loaf tender.
- Let the meatloaf rest before slicing to keep the juices evenly distributed.
- You can make the mushroom gravy ahead and reheat gently when serving.
- Serve with mashed potatoes, green beans, or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
