Description
Irresistible Rotel Cream Cheese Sausage Balls: Creamy, cheesy bites with Rotel tomatoes, perfect for parties and game days.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb halal ground sausage (or spiced turkey sausage)
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 (10 oz) can Rotel diced tomatoes with green chilies, well-drained
- 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 cups Bisquick or baking mix
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp paprika
- ¼ tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess grease and let cool slightly.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked sausage, cream cheese, drained Rotel, cheddar cheese, Bisquick, and seasonings. Mix well until a thick dough forms (using your hands makes it easier).
- Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them evenly on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
- Serve warm with ranch dressing or your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- For extra heat, use spicy sausage or add a pinch of cayenne.
- Make-ahead: Prepare the dough, refrigerate up to 24 hours before baking.
- Freeze: Freeze uncooked balls on a sheet, then transfer to bags for up to 2 months; bake from frozen, adding a few minutes to the bake time.
- Variation: Substitute pepper jack cheese for extra zing.
