Hamburger & Potato Casserole is a hearty, easy 5-ingredient dinner layered with seasoned ground beef, potatoes, and a creamy mushroom sauce.

- 1½ lb ground beef
- 4 large russet potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup milk
- 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
- In a bowl, whisk together cream of mushroom soup and milk until smooth.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the prepared dish.
- Spread half of the cooked ground beef over the potatoes.
- Pour half of the soup mixture evenly over the beef.
- Repeat layers with remaining potatoes, beef, and soup mixture.
- Cover tightly with foil and bake for 75 minutes, or until potatoes are tender.
- Remove foil, sprinkle shredded cheddar evenly on top, and bake uncovered for 10–15 minutes until melted and bubbly.
- Let rest 5–10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Swap cream of mushroom soup for a homemade creamy sauce if desired.
- For a lighter version, use leaner ground beef and reduced-fat cheese.
- Let the casserole rest 5–10 minutes before serving to set.
