Description

Garlic Parmesan Chicken Pasta is a creamy, comforting skillet dinner featuring tender chicken, al dente pasta, and a silky garlic-Parmesan sauce.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz fettuccine or penne pasta
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 chicken breasts, sliced into thin strips
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • ¾ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
  • Chopped parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving ½ cup pasta water.
  2. Season chicken with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chicken and cook 6–8 minutes until golden and fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Stir in heavy cream and chicken broth, bringing to a gentle simmer.
  6. Add Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes, whisking until smooth and creamy. Adjust consistency with a little pasta water if needed.
  7. Return chicken to the skillet and toss in the sauce until coated.
  8. Add cooked pasta and stir to combine everything evenly.
  9. Garnish with chopped parsley and extra Parmesan before serving.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream and reduce Parmesan.
  • Omit the red pepper flakes for a milder flavor.
  • Save ½ cup of pasta water to adjust the sauce consistency if needed.
  • Serve with extra parsley and Parmesan for garnish.
