Description
Easter Trifle Dessert: A light, four-layer creamy and fruity treat perfect for spring celebrations.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 prepared pound cake or vanilla sponge cake, cut into cubes
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
- 1 cup fresh raspberries
- 2 cups whipped topping or freshly whipped cream
- 1 package (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
- 2 cups cold milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp pastel sprinkles (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together vanilla pudding mix and cold milk until thickened. Stir in vanilla extract.
- In a trifle dish or large glass bowl, add a layer of cake cubes at the bottom.
- Spoon a layer of pudding over the cake.
- Add a layer of whipped topping.
- Top with a layer of mixed berries.
- Repeat layers until ingredients are used, finishing with whipped topping and berries on top.
- Garnish with sprinkles if desired.
- Chill for at least 2 hours before serving to allow flavors to blend.
Notes
- You can substitute pound cake with vanilla sponge cake or angel food for a lighter texture.
- Use seasonal berries and adjust sweetness to taste.
- If using whipped topping from a can, gently fold to keep the airiness.
- For a make-ahead dessert, assemble up to the berry layer and chill; add final berries and sprinkles just before serving.
- To lighten, use light whipped topping or whipped Greek yogurt.
