Description
Crockpot Angel Chicken is a creamy, comforting slow cooker dish with tender chicken simmered in a rich, savory sauce that’s perfect over pasta, mashed potatoes, or rice.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4–6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup (or cream of mushroom, if preferred)
- ½ cup chicken broth
- 1 packet (1 oz) Italian dressing mix or ranch seasoning mix
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- ¼ cup butter, melted
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Lightly grease the slow cooker with nonstick spray.
- Place chicken breasts or thighs in the crockpot. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
- In a bowl, whisk together cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, Italian dressing mix, cream cheese, and melted butter until smooth.
- Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken.
- Cover and cook on Low for 6–8 hours or High for 3–4 hours, until chicken is tender and easily shredded.
- Stir sauce gently before serving to mix everything together.
- Serve the creamy chicken over angel hair pasta, mashed potatoes, biscuits, or rice. Garnish with fresh parsley for a pop of color and freshness.
Notes
- Can substitute cream of mushroom soup for a different flavor profile.
- Use thighs for juicier results, breasts for a leaner option.
- For a thicker sauce, cook on low a bit longer with the lid off to reduce slightly.
- Leftovers reuse well in casseroles or over pasta.
