Description
Creamy Ranch Chicken: a quick, comforting weeknight dinner featuring pan-seared chicken in a rich ranch sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 packet (1 oz) ranch seasoning mix
- 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half)
- ½ cup chicken broth
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped parsley or chives, for garnish
Instructions
- Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and half of the ranch seasoning mix.
- Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Sear chicken for 4–5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream, scraping up any browned bits from the pan.
- Stir in remaining ranch seasoning and Parmesan cheese. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Return chicken to the pan and spoon sauce over the top. Simmer on low for another 2–3 minutes to let the flavors meld.
- Garnish with parsley or chives and serve hot over mashed potatoes, pasta, or rice.
Notes
- For a lighter version, use half-and-half in place of heavy cream.
- If the ranch seasoning contains gluten, use a gluten-free ranch mix.
- Leftover sauce can be stored in the fridge for 2–3 days and reheated gently.
- Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or pasta for a complete meal.
