- 1 lb ground halal meat (beef or turkey)
- 2 cups cooked rice
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 cup bell peppers, diced
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil or butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Heat oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and bell peppers and sauté for 3–4 minutes until softened.
- Add ground meat, garlic powder, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess fat if needed.
- In a bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup and sour cream until smooth.
- Spread cooked rice evenly in the bottom of the baking dish.
- Layer the seasoned meat mixture over the rice.
- Spread the soup and sour cream mixture over the meat layer.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly on top.
- Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, until heated through and cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let rest 5–10 minutes before serving.
