Description
Cream Cheese Cookies: Soft, pillowy cookies with a melt-in-your-mouth texture and a hint of tang from cream cheese.
Ingredients
Scale
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, beat butter, cream cheese, and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add egg and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet until just combined.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough, roll into balls, and place on baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, until edges are set but centers look soft. Do not overbake.
- Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
Notes
- Do not overbake; cookies should remain soft and tender.
- Gently roll the dough into balls to ensure even size and even baking.
- Dust with powdered sugar just before serving for a quick finish.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
