Description

Cheesy Mushroom & Swiss Burger Casserole delivers everything you love about a gourmet mushroom Swiss burger in cozy, comforting casserole form.


Ingredients

  • lbs ground beef
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 cups shredded Swiss cheese (divided)
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat if needed.
  3. Add onion and mushrooms and sauté for 5-7 minutes until mushrooms are tender and lightly browned.
  4. Stir in garlic, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Add cream of mushroom soup and milk. Stir until smooth and well combined.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in 1½ cups of Swiss cheese.
  7. Transfer mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  8. Sprinkle remaining cheese over the top.
  9. Bake uncovered for 30-35 minutes until bubbly and lightly golden.
  10. Let rest for 5 minutes, garnish if desired, and serve warm.
