Description
Cheeseburger Casserole: a 30-minute, one-pot cheesy take on a classic hamburger dinner, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
- 1 1/2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tbsp cream cheese (optional, for extra creaminess)
- Fresh parsley or pickles, for garnish
Instructions
- Brown the beef: In a large skillet or deep sauté pan, cook ground beef and onion over medium heat until browned. Drain excess grease.
- Add flavor: Stir in garlic, paprika, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add liquids and pasta: Pour in beef broth, tomato sauce, and macaroni. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.
- Simmer: Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender and most of the liquid has been absorbed.
- Add cheese: Stir in shredded cheddar (and cream cheese if using) until melted and creamy.
- Serve: Garnish with parsley or diced pickles for a true cheeseburger vibe. Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
- If you prefer a stovetop-to-oven option, transfer to a casserole dish and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 5-10 minutes to melt the cheese.
- For extra creaminess, stir in cream cheese at the end of cooking.
- Chopped parsley or diced pickles adds a classic cheeseburger vibe.
- Leftovers refrigerate well for 2-3 days; reheat on the stove or in the microwave.
