Description
Apple Cider Cookies are soft, chewy fall cookies packed with warm spices, rolled in cinnamon sugar, and finished with a sweet apple cider glaze.

- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- ¼ cup reduced apple cider (see note)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- For the Cinnamon Sugar Coating:
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 2 tbsp apple cider butter or melted butter
- For the Apple Cider Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2–3 tbsp reduced apple cider (or milk)
- ¼ tsp cinnamon
- Note: To make reduced apple cider, simmer 1 cup of apple cider in a saucepan until reduced to ¼ cup. Let cool before using.
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
- In a large bowl, cream butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in egg, vanilla, and reduced apple cider until combined.
- Gradually add dry ingredients and mix until a soft dough forms. Chill for 30 minutes if dough is sticky.
- Mix cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl. Brush each cookie dough ball lightly with apple cider butter, then roll in cinnamon sugar.
- Place cookies 2 inches apart on the baking sheet and bake for 10–12 minutes, until edges are set.
- Cool slightly before drizzling with apple cider glaze.
Notes
- To make reduced apple cider, simmer 1 cup of apple cider in a saucepan until reduced to ¼ cup. Let cool before using.
- Chill the dough for 30 minutes if it’s sticky to help shape the cookies.
- Yield: approximately 18 cookies.
